 3-weeks (Due to Labor Day) $75 

In our “Worms and Composting” project based course, students will investigate the benefits of composting and build an understanding of how worms are able to contribute to our world. Over the span of 3 sessions, each student will be able to create and explore curated, hands-on activities that connect these main concepts.

 4-weeks $100

Through this “Biomes” project based learning unit, students will be exploring desert, grassland, forest, and water biomes through the creation of models, literature, and inclusive projects. These projects will provide comprehensive, engaging activities where students can synthesize their knowledge of specific habitats around the globe.

Mondays September 11 - October 2                       

4-weeks $100 

Students will be introduced to different aspects of storytelling and performance, while working together on games and exercises that will expand their imagination, collaboration, communication skills and their self confidence.  Weekly topics include improvisation, musical theater, playwriting and acting/directing.  Students will have an opportunity to act or direct a short scene.  This is a great rooted project class to test out if your student may be interested in or theater class offered in 2024.

 4-weeks $100

Our students love birds and this class aims to spotlight our feathered friends.  Birds are the only animals with feathers, they come in all sizes and colors, they are important to every ecosystem.  There’s so much to learn about birds!  We’ll learn how to describe a bird; it’s shape, beak, and tail.  We’ll build a field guide of local birds, practice drawing birds and learn their songs.  We’ll learn what birds eat and make a bird feeder.  Can you create your own bird?  We think can!

Mondays October 16 - November 6       

 4-weeks $100

In our Wilderness Project, take on 4 aspects of life in the wilderness: Shelter, water, fire and safety.  We’ll learn about how humans have historically used shelter and the materials they use to construct them.  Students will build table top shelters and work together to build a large, collaborative shelter.  How do humans use fire and how is it beneficial?  Students learn the basic chemistry of fire and learn what materials do and don’t burn.  We tackle fire safety and fire week culminates is building fires.  The importance of clean water, the three states of water, the watershed and water filtration will be our focus the third week and we’ll learn about first aid, act out rescue scenarios, learn about what you need in a first aid kit and how to call 911.

  4-weeks $100

In this project based course, students will explore 4 crucial topics that contribute to our everyday recipes and nutritional needs as humans: salt, fat, heat, and vitamins/nutrients. For each of these topics, students will analyze and research the way we incorporate and utilize these particular concepts in our diets through experiential learning and exploration with recipes and flavors using the basic culinary and nutritional building blocks of salt, fat, heat, and vitamins/nutrients.

Mondays November 13 - December 11

  4-weeks $100

Using their background knowledge of habitats and biomes, students will dive deeper into the types of camouflage and mimicry and the reasons why certain animals developed these adaptations to survive. Students will build an understanding of concealed coloration, disruptive coloration, disguise, and mimicry to further develop their knowledge of this concept through creative and interactive hands on projects throughout the course.

Tuesdays November 14 - December 12    

4-weeks $100

For our final project based learning course of the season, students have the opportunity to investigate 4 main parts of our body: blood, hands, brain, and lungs. Throughout each session, students will be able to create models that demonstrate their learning and understanding of how these specific parts of their body work and function in their daily lives. This course incorporates many sensory activities for students to enjoy.
